| 27247 | 16 Feet 1946-47 Gar Wood Ensign | $5,000 | |
| This is without a doubt the absolute last un-modified totally original post WWII bright sided ensign in existence. It has been in my possession for 30 plus years and was out of the water for at least 20 years before I bought it. During that time it has always been kept indoors. The bottom and keel are in the process of replacement. The topsides are fine and only need to have fasteners tightened. The interior is totally original including the ceilings (side panels). Everything can be matched, restored, and documented as factory original for show. All the original hardware is here and includes some fancy stainless cutwater wings that can be seen in the pictures. Even the usually missing teardrop fender cleats are all there. The factory original step pads show no wear and are perfect with no cracks or crazing. The pictures show it without the full windshield, which is intact with all hardware. |

| This is a gorgeous and desired Gar Wood Utility. Measuring 20 feet in length the boat was fully restored by a well known Canadian Restorer in 2002. The current owner has owned the boat since 2000. Prior to that it was Nestleton Ontario and the boat was always used in fresh water. The boat was originally delivered to Fitzgerald and Lee in Alexandria Bay New York in 1937. The boat is in very nice shape overall with the original gauges, hardware and step pads. The leather uplholstery is in good condition as is the bottom and overall condition of the wood. The Hull ID is 776. Gar Wood only made 153 of these boats and this vessel was number 88 out of 153 and the LAST 20' Utility made in 1937. These boats are hard to find in this condition and except for the absence of a trailer would make for a simply and easy addition to some looking to own one of these fabulous boats. |
